After a record-setting football season, the Nevada Tigers had much to celebrate when they met at the PAC at Nevada High School for their end-of-the-year banquet. Going 9-3 on the season, winning their first District Championship in over 25 years, and advancing to the school’s first state quarterfinal game since the 1970s, this Tiger team proved to be the real deal. Of the three losses on the season, two of those went on to win state championships in their respective classes, and the third one was runner-up in their class.
Coach Beachler commended the seniors on their leadership and team mentality as well as recognizing his coaching staff for being great supporters of the program and the players. While he was named Coach of the Year by the Southwest Missouri Coaches Football Association, when announcing at the banquet he said that his team of coaches won the award, furthering the team motto of “Every Player, Every Play” that was put into place by former Tiger Football Coach Will Downing.
After presenting the certificates everyone got to enjoy a highlight slideshow from each of the 12 games throughout the season followed by some light refreshments and, of course, pictures.
Nevada was led by 12 seniors, many of whom have been in the program since middle school.
